About the Organization:
The Ansari Rehabilitation Association for Afghanistan (ARAA) is a national, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1992 to support the people of Afghanistan. It operates in areas such as Health, Protection, Agriculture/Irrigation, Water and Sanitation, Education, Reintegration, Social Services, and Construction. ARAA is committed to providing humanitarian aid in alignment with human rights principles, the Islamic and cultural values of the country, and ensuring environmental and socio-economic sustainability for vulnerable Afghans.
As part of its 2025 program operational plan, ARAA is looking for a qualified individual to apply for this position.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Country Programme Manager and Protection Officer, the Child Case Worker will:
- Assess and identify at-risk children, including unaccompanied, separated, disabled, or abused children.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans prioritizing the child’s best interests.
- Provide psychosocial support and counseling using a trauma-informed approach.
- Monitor and follow up on cases, ensuring care plans are executed and children’s well-being is maintained.
- Report protection concerns and trends to the Child Protection Officer.
- Update referral pathways for children needing specialized services.
- Collaborate with community structures, schools, and authorities to coordinate child protection responses.
- Conduct awareness sessions on child protection risks and rights.
- Support communities in identifying at-risk children and referring them to services.
- Strengthen local child protection mechanisms.
- Maintain confidential case files and submit regular reports.
- Ensure interventions follow UNHCR and international child protection standards.
- Uphold a survivor-centered approach, focusing on children’s safety, dignity, and best interests.
