Durations

The MEXT Scholarship 2025 for Teachers offers an 18-month training program in Japan.

Eligible Regions:

Applicants from countries with strong diplomatic ties to Japan, including those with a Japanese embassy or consulate, can apply. This includes nations like Pakistan, Bangladesh, India,Afghanistan, Ghana, Algeria, and many more. Check the official list for full details here

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be from a country with diplomatic ties to Japan.
  • Must hold a degree from a recognized university or teacher training institute.
  • Require at least 5 years of teaching experience in primary or secondary schools by October 1, 2025. University faculty members are not eligible.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit to study in Japan for 18 months.
  • Must be born after April 2, 1990.
  • Should be willing to learn Japanese and adapt to life in Japan.
  • Accepted applicants must arrive in Japan at least two weeks before the program starts.
